Fenerbahçe secured a spot in the UEFA Europa League Round of 16 after drawing 2-2 against Belgian side RSC Anderlecht in the second leg of their playoff round. Having won the first leg 3-0, Fenerbahçe progressed with an aggregate score of 5-2. The goals for Fenerbahçe came from Youssef En-Nesyri in the 4th minute and Yusuf Akçiçek in the 63rd minute. Anderlecht’s goals were scored by Luis Vazquez in the 19th and 55th minutes.

The match was interrupted for about 20 minutes due to disturbances in the stands, with Swiss referee Sandro Schärer sending the teams to the locker rooms before play resumed.
Fenerbahçe will face either Greek side Olympiacos or Scottish team Rangers in the Round of 16. The matches will take place on March 6 and March 13, 2025.
