Germans Start EURO 2024 with a Show! 5-1

Germany made a stormy start to EURO 2024, defeating Scotland 5-1 in the tournament’s opening match. Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala, who scored Germany’s first two goals, made history by becoming the first under-21 players to score two goals in a single match in the Championship’s history.

The excitement of EURO 2024 began with the opening match between Germany and Scotland. The two Group A teams faced off at the Munich Allianz Arena.

The pre-match displays drew significant attention. Football fans living in Hamburg followed the game on giant screens set up at Heiligengeistfeld square in the St. Pauli district.

GERMANS RAINED GOALS

Germany’s goals were scored by Florian Wirtz in the 10th minute, Jamal Musiala in the 19th minute, Kai Havertz from a penalty in the 45+1st minute, Niclas Füllkrug in the 68th minute, and Emre Can in the 90+3rd minute. Scotland’s lone goal came from an own goal by Antonio Rüdiger in the 87th minute.

Germany will play their next group matches against Hungary on June 19 and Switzerland on June 23.
